WELCOME TO THE DEVON POOL LIFE SAVING OBSTACLE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025
The Championships will be held at Tarka Leisure Centre on Sunday 6th April 2025.

First Event 18:05
Can club’s please provider helpers to put the blocks in and help put the obstacles in at 17:45 poolside (far end first, to try not to disturb Barnstaple swimming club too much) and to help remove them at the end of the competition.

PLEASE NOTE:
● No entry to poolside before 18:00
● Only two team managers/and assistants and competitors on poolside please space is very limited therefore clubs need manage their parents.
● No spectating in the changing rooms.
● Team Managers and Assistants to wear club kit for identification.
● Each Team to bring bin bags to use as the poolside areas must be kept clean and tidy.

GENERAL

● Please refer to SLSGB website for current ILS rules. Team Managers are expected to know the rules.
● Please note that no photography is permitted within the venue.
● Please note that pool is 25 metres.
● Each club with more than 10 competitors must bring two qualified officials.
● Only one team manager and two helpers can be on poolside to make sure their club competitors are ready.
● Clubs should ensure that their competitors are able to perform a competitive start safely otherwise they must start in the water.
● Competitor numbers will be as per the electronic entry form. Clubs should bring a marker to mark club and competitor number on back of left (e.g. SS 05) hand and age group on the right hand.

TIME KEEPERS / HELPERS

Each age group from each clubs must provide:
2 timekeepers with stopwatch. Please note there is no electronic timing at this event.
2 Helpers for poolside.
All officials and helpers to meet at 17:30 please in the foyer.



INDIVIDUAL AGE GROUPS/MEDALS
Medals for 1st,2nd,3rd in each age/team group for Youth only

Individual Age Groups
Youth 13: aged 13 on 31st December 2025
Youth 14/15: aged 15 or 14 on 31st December 2025
Youth 16/17: aged 17 or 16 on 31st December 2025
Seniors 16 yrs + (All competitors who will reach the age of 16 and over this year)
Masters Age bands: 30+ 40+ 50+ 60+

TEAM EVENTS

Team Age Groups
Youth 13: all members of the relay team must be aged 13 and under on 31st December 2025
Youth 15: all members of the relay team must be aged 15 and under on 31st December 2025
Youth 17: all members of the relay team must be aged 17 and under on 31st December 2025

OPEN: all members of the relay team must be 16 and over on 31st December 2025
A maximum of 2 Male and 2 Female teams per club per age group.
Competitors may only swim in one relay team per event

Masters: Only 2 x teams per club in any event, teams can be mixed. Each competitor may only swim once in each event.

The first 16 competitors/teams will score as follows:

(girls age group will race one event followed by the boys)

ENTRY FEES
To streamline the competition entry process, SLS Devon has partnered with The Club Membership Cloud. This collaboration aims to drastically reduce the time clubs spend submitting entries.

SLS Devon - Events
The entry fee is: £5.00 per competitor.
Can any cancellations or scratches be emailed to sarahedurrant@live.co.uk by midday on the
6th of April. This may enable us to reduce the event running time and reduce the pool hire costs.
Please note both club entries and fees must be received by the closing date. Any club not paying their main entry fees on time will face a 25% increase in their entry fees for the relevant competition or will be refused entry for that competition

Closing date for all entries/payment is Sunday 30th March 2025

TRANSFER OF COMPETITORS
● A competitor already entered can withdraw due to no longer being available up to one week before the date of the relevant competition. However, they will not be due a refund.
● Their position in the relevant competition can be transferred to another person in the club
● Their club will be responsible for payment issues arising e.g. the replacement competitor reimbursing the competitor that is no longer available.

REFUNDS

● No refunds are given for non-availability or no shows or any withdrawal after entry closure
● Refunds will only be given after the Devon Sports Committee has agreed that the relevant competition cannot be re-scheduled.
● The Devon Sports Chair and the Devon Treasurer will agree the level of refund due to each club, after costs have been taken into consideration
● The refund for each will be based on the total entry fees received from all clubs for the relevant competition less the agreed costs divided by the number of competitors each club entered.
● The refund will be made via BACS or cheque to the club
● The club will be responsible for sharing the refund amongst its competitors
● The club must notify the Devon Treasurer that they wish to be refunded
● They can choose not to have refund, in which case the funds will be held for future sports expenditure and not future entry fees for the club declining a refund

LATE PAYMENT CHARGE

Any club not paying their main entry fees on time will face a 25% increase in their entry fees for the relevant competition or will be refused entry for that competition No entries will be accepted any later than 48 hours prior to the start of the event.
