So the back of the right hand should have club ID ie SD01 WO23 SS12 and left hand age etc written so that the recorder can easily see. See attached picture. The number comes from the excel spreadsheet entry cell so the row the competitor is entered on. Enter the info on the spreadsheet carefully as errors can upset the program and the results won’t read correctly. So….. Please use CAPITAL letters for your club code Please put all girls of one age group together and then all boys of one age group (This is because entries are cut and pasted onto the recording system) The age is the age the child will be on Dec 31st 2023 Please bring black bags to take away your rubbish.

Heats for individual events will be drawn based on entry times as declared on the entry forms. The fastest declared entry times will be drawn in the last heat. Where no entry time is declared the individual will be drawn in the first/early heats. Clubs are reminded that they must only enter times that have been achieved by competitors. It is unfair to enter times that have not been achieved or that are unrealistic. All this does is place the competitor in a potentially embarrassing position as they may have to swim in a heat where they are clearly far slower than other competitors. This is also unfair on those who should rightly be seeded into the fastest heats on their ability. The purpose of seeding competitors by entry time is to try to ensure that races are competitive and competitors swim in heats with others who can achieve similar times. Entering false or unrealistic times is deemed unfair practice and goes against the SLSGB's Fair Play Code. Event Helpers and Timekeepers Each competing club must supply 1 timekeeper (they must bring Stopwatches, pens/pencils, clipboards and wear a white top as a minimum please). Other events helpers also need to be provided to help to move equipment as determined by the referee, for the duration of the competition. Each competing club must also provide at least 1 suitable adult (able to spend a considerable amount of time in the water) for each 8 competitors entered, to help reset the manikin events. If there are insufficient event helpers or timekeepers, the organisers may have no option but to cancel one or more events on the day. Rules for the Event: The Rules for the event will be the current ILS Competition Rules (No Modifications) Equipment to be provided by competing clubs – manikins Each club must provide at least 2 ILS specification manikin for the competition. We need at least 8 manikins to run events where manikins are used, and 16 for the 200m Super lifesaver. Having more manikins available will mean that the turn-around time between events will be significantly shortened. Ensure your manikin is clean and clearly marked with your club’s name. SLSGB are not responsible for a loss or damage to manikins. Please make sure that they are properly identified. Team Manager’s Meeting All Team Managers must attend the Managers meeting. Failure to attend this meeting and pay the required fees at the correct time will mean that the Club’s participation in the event will be at best being delayed and at worst may be denied completely by the organisers. Consent: Team managers must be fully aware of any pre-existing medical condition or medication necessary for team members We strongly advise that all team managers, officials, and helpers involved in the event, should be registered with and cleared by Club Safeguarding Officer and where appropriate, relevant checks are completed. By entering the competition, you agree that SLSGB events are held in public places and by participating in these championships, competitors may be photographed, and these may be published. If you do not give consent to have photographs taken and possibly used for promotional purposes which may include media, social media, and website images, at SLSGB events, it is your responsibility to register with the National Safeguarding Manager or Event Manager at the SLSGB event HQ at the beginning of the event. A guide to Young Person Welfare procedures for this event will be sent to Team Managers and will be available on request to any interested parties. Competitor Numbers: Each competitor must have their four-digit number (club code plus two numbers as determined through the entry form) marked clearly on the back of their right hand at all times. This is essential for the recording process to operate effectively, as the recorders will only record the numbers of the competitor against the placing on their sheets. It is essential that all competitors have the number clearly displayed and can show it to any official when requested. Failure to do so could lead to the competitor being disqualified. Each club will be supplied with a suitable marker pen to mark their competitor numbers. COVID - PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE Team Managers will be asked on registration to confirm that all Team members and helpers have not very recently displayed or are currently experiencing any COVID symptoms. Rules for the Event: The Rules for the event will be the current SLSGB Nipper Competition Rules. Equipment to be provided by competing clubs: Boards: Clubs can use which boards they prefer at the Championships 1.6 or 2m. As boards will not be pooled clubs are required to bring sufficient to cover their heats. Ensure that your boards are clearly marked with your club’s name. Manikins -Tubes: Tubes and Junior Manikins will be provided by SLSGB. Team Manager’s Meeting All Team Managers must attend the Managers meeting.
