Closing date for all entries/payment is the 20th June 2025

Entries are £28 to include a participation medal.
If a liveheat band is needed this will cost an additional £10 (to be paid in cash on the day).

Saunton Sands SLSC will be selling cakes, drinks and sweets in the clubhouse there will also be a BBQ after the competition has finished outside the Clubhouse. All clubs are welcome.

Team and pair events are limited to two scoring teams of boys and girls per club in each age band. Clubs may enter as many non-scoring teams as they wish (except for board rescue).

General Information

Equipment:

Clubs must ensure they have sufficient equipment for their competitors, please avoid board sharing. Events will not be held up due to a competitor not having the correct equipment when the race is due to start.

SLS Devon will not be liable for any loss or damage to equipment

Team Managers - Qualified Officials - Water Safety - Assistants: These will be recorded on a separate document

Competitor Clothing:

Club caps must be worn in all events. They should be tied securely under the chin and worn on the head at the start of each event.

No jewelry to be worn during races

All competitors must wear the SLSGB high visibility safety vest during any water event.

Competitors must remove caps and vests if entering the sea other than in competition races. This is a club responsibility and points may be deducted for infringement at the discretion of the Referee.

(Clubs should decide if individuals are to purchase their own vest or whether the club will have a bank of vests to lend to competitors – these are the same vests that were worn for previous ocean nationals)

Race Organisation:

Races will start on time and programme changes may occur as a result of sea / weather conditions.

Team managers are to ensure that competitors are ready for each event (including relays)

An Assistant Team Manager should also be appointed to deputise for the team manager should he/she be unavailable due to a team manager meeting or some other eventuality.

Trophies:

All trophies should be returned in a clean condition on the day of the competition

Presentations:

Medals will be presented to Nipper competitors at the end of each race due to time considerations. (one volunteer from each club for this please)

Consent:

Where it is required – all clubs must be in possession of the appropriate parental consent forms.

Sustainability details

As a committee we are working towards reducing the impact on the environment through our events, actions and policies. We are asking all clubs to help us with this at the Devon competition in a few different ways:

Please send out messaging to all your members with the following information:

Don’t forget your refillable water bottles There will be a refill tap outside the Saunton Surf Club for everyone to refill their bottles all day. Refill location You can also ask for refills at the cafe and shop.

All officials will have refillable water bottles. Please offer to refill their bottle if you are going to refill your own to make sure they are hydrated throughout the day especially if it is hot.

- Don’t forget your reusable cups for hot drinks.

- Rubbish and Recycling

Make sure you clear away any rubbish and recycling from your clubs area and place it in the bin/recycling points on the slipway when you leave.

You can also encourage members to do a 2minutebeachclean throughout the day.
